b) Addressed by:

  • Campaigning for better and more street and public place lighting with improved
    maintenance and reporting of faults notification and follow up procedure
  • Developing of a co-ordinated and on going clean up and education programme to
    remove dumped items/rubbish/litter and maintain a cleaner future environment
  • Establishing a co-ordinated and focused programme to renovate existing green
    areas, bringing them back into use and to develop new ones. Establishing local
    ownership for the on-going oversight and maintenance
  • Considering how best to develop the existing Queens Park in conjunction with
    others
  • Working together with the authorities and private agencies to make dangerous
    buildings safe
  • Drawing up an action plan to work with the council on repair and improvements to
    fencing, gates, pavements and pathways throughout the area
  • Agreeing action plans with private landlords and council Housing Department regarding
    property improvements

Researching available grants and support provision of a Community Reinvestment
Fund to help finance property
